2012 is a year full of significance for us: 50 years ago while Jamaica finished to be Britain colony and became independent, the Jamaican ska took on a complete form, moving away from the first imitation of the American rythm&blues and initiating a long adventure which would lead to the foundation of reggae.
More or less at the same time, five boys started to practice their vocal harmonies in a yard in Trenchtown, the ghetto which today is well known by all reggae fans: Among these boys were Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Livingstone. Under the name Wailers they began a passionate history which would change the lives of millions of people all over the world.
To celebrate this anniversary, the Main Stage will present a special concert this year: the lady of the reggae, Marcia Griffiths, known for being a chorister of the Wailers in the seventies; together with Andrew, son of Peter Tosh, and Kymani, son of Bob Marley.
We think it is a good way to celebrate on the main stage fifty years of reggae history with the most brilliant feminine voice and the musical inheritage of two extraordinary artists.

19* Rototom Sunsplash 2012 Jamaica Special
Aug 16-22 Benicasim Spain
http://www.rototom.tv
